3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

Here We Go!!!

Hello Friends and Family!! I'm so excited to have you here! I hope that you will join my family and take the challenge to put Moroni's promise to the test. I wanted to let you know how this all started!

Without going into too much of my personal feelings, I have felt the need to strengthen my testimony and I just didn't know where to start, what to do. I realized that I wanted to know, with a surety, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints really is the true gospel and that the Book of Mormon is truly scripture. Then, last week (around Sept. 7) it hit me - I needed to take up Moroni on his promise (see scripture at top of page). I could have that surety, one way or the other. I have been promised that I can know for myself of the truth of ALL things. That thought grew and developed into a plan to invite my family (children included) to read the Book of Mormon all the way through by the end of the year, with Moroni's promise a constant thought as we study.

I presented the idea to my husband and children last night durinig Family Home Evening and they are all on board! I let each child choose if they wanted to take the challenge and they all agreed. In fact, my oldest is already ahead of the game - he read 7 chapters last night! I do plan on reading the Book of Mormon Stories with the younger 3, rather than the full Book of Mormon (reading the whole thing out loud is just more than I want to take on right now! But I will be reading it myself).

Before you start, please read Elder Cook's message (link is on the right) - and follow his suggestions. I used that message for our lesson last night and it has some really great advice.

I want this blog to be open for all who want to join us as we read The Book of Mormon. If you want to contribute, let me know so I can add you to the list of authors, or you can email me what you'd like to post and I will post it for you. Please share your thoughts and feelings with all of us. If you have any neat experiences or other things to share, we'd love to hear them!!

Also, please feel free to invite anyone you know that would like to join this challenge - member or not! We want everyone who wants to to participate with us!

So, let's get started!!
